2-Car Crash In The Town Of Colonie NY

On May 18, 2025, at approximately 8:41 p.m., State Police were called to I-87 near Exit 3 in the town of Colonie for a report of a two-car accident. 

A preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle, driven by Nour H. El Haidari, 19, of Albany, was traveling eastbound on Albany Shaker Road, approaching the traffic light to turn right onto the I-87 south ramp. 

During the investigation, it was determined that a second vehicle, driven by Brian L. Weick, 60, of Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA, was traveling northbound on the I-87S Exit 3 ramp when El Haidari failed to keep right of the median, began driving southbound in the northbound lane and collided head on with Weick. 

Colonie EMS was on scene for evaluation with no injuries reported. 

El Haidari was issued a ticket for vehicle and traffic violations.
