🚨 Crash on Youngs Road: Motorcycle Collides with Car Turning into Driveway — Driver Cited!

Vernon, NY — A quiet Tuesday evening took a dangerous turn when a motorcycle collided with a car attempting to enter a driveway on Youngs Road, sending emergency crews racing to the scene.

According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, the incident occurred around 7:00 PM on July 15, 2025, in the Town of Vernon.

Erin Kirk, 23, of Vernon, was driving a 2014 Volkswagen eastbound on Youngs Road when she attempted a left-hand turn into her driveway. At the same time, Dakota Kimball, 29, of Oriskany Falls, was approaching from the opposite direction on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Kirk’s vehicle reportedly failed to yield the right of way, resulting in Kimball’s motorcycle crashing into the passenger side of the Volkswagen.

Kimball was treated on scene for injuries but declined further medical attention.

As a result of the investigation, Kirk was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield while making a left-hand turn. She is scheduled to appear in Vernon Town Court at a later date.

The Vernon Center Fire Department and Vernon Village Police Department assisted the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
