Police arrest woman for DWI with six children in the vehicle - Greenwich NY

On July 2, 2025, State Police of Greenwich arrested Cassie L. Waldynski, 38 of Amsterdam, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law), six counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

On July 2, 2025, at about 8:00 p.m. Troopers received the report of a vehicle being operated in an unsafe manner with children in the vehicle in the area of State Route 22 in Granville, NY. Troopers located a vehicle matching the complainant’s description and after observing Vehicle and Traffic Law violations stopped it on County Route 31 in Hebron, NY. The driver was identified as Waldynski and six children under the age of 16 were located in the vehicle.

Waldynski was arrested and transported to SP Greenwich for processing where she recorded a 0.24% BAC. The children were turned over to a family friend. Waldynski was issued tickets returnable to the Hebron Town Court on July 21, 2025, and released to a sober third party.
