Westmoreland, NY – What started as a routine morning at the Skenandoa Club turned into a costly crime scene when employees discovered extensive damage to the greens and fairway, reportedly caused by a vehicle driven across the course.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol, patrol units responded to the club on the morning of July 2, 2025, after staff reported the destruction. Investigators determined the damage was consistent with a vehicle having been driven on the property — including delicate areas of the course.
The estimated repair cost exceeded $4,000, prompting the Criminal Investigations Unit and Juvenile Aid Unit from the Sheriff’s Office to launch a deeper investigation.
As a result, a juvenile suspect — whose identity is being withheld due to age — was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony under New York State Law.
The juvenile was arraigned in Oneida County Court Youth Part and released to the custody of a parent, pending a return court date.
Authorities have not released further details due to the suspect’s age, but the case remains active.
