State Police Investigating Fatal Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-90 In Oneida County NY

On March 5, 2026, at approximately 1:25 a.m., State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 (NYS Thruway) westbound near mile marker 243.7 in the town of Westmoreland, Oneida County.

The preliminary investigation determined that a tractor trailer operated by Ahmad Riyad Alomori, age 42, of New Jersey, was traveling westbound in the right lane while hauling an empty car carrier for A1 Truck Lines. A second tractor trailer, operated by a driver with DNT Express, subsequently struck the rear of the car hauler. Both vehicles were pushed to the right shoulder following the collision.

The male operator of the DNT Express tractor trailer sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Alomori sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Wynn Hospital for evaluation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
