Troop F Observes National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims

Middletown, NY — On September 25, Troop F of the New York State Police honored the National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims, established by Congress in 2007 to remember lives lost to violence and the families forever changed.

This year’s memorial display includes photos of victims, each representing more than a case file — but real people with families and stories. Crime Victim Specialist Kimberly Bryden reminded visitors: “They were not always victims. They are real people who deserve to be remembered for the lives they lived and the people who loved them.”

The loss felt especially close this year with the inclusion of retired Troop F Maintenance Assistant Tom Fusco, a respected colleague and Civilian of the Year, who was killed just months after being honored.

The display will remain in the Troop F lobby in Middletown through September 29.
