Update: Multiple crashes on 81 north slow morning commute

Update: On February 25, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m., a Trooper from SP Homer (Interstate) was dispatched to a report of multiple vehicles involved in a crash on Interstate 81 northbound near exit 52 in the city of Cortland.

Four operators in four separate vehicles subsequently struck the guiderail that was lying in the roadway, resulting in damage to their vehicles.  No injuries were reported.

Weather is believed to be a contributing factor.
