Bat Tests Positive for Rabies in South Utica

A bat has tested positive for rabies in South Utica.

The bat was sent to the New York State Department of Health Wadsworth Center for testing on September 9, 2026 and positive results were reported on September 10, 2026. One person was exposed to the bat and receiving post-exposure prophylaxis.
