State Police investigate a Fatal ATV collision
On October 3, 2026, at approximately 4:28 p.m., New York State Police responded to the Deer Valley Club trails in the Adirondack Park, town of Indian Lake, for a reported ATV collision.
An investigation determined that William L. French, age 55, of South Glens Falls, was operating a 2021 Suzuki ATV northeast on the Deer Valley trails when he struck a culvert pipe, causing him to be ejected from the ATV.
Indian Lake medical personnel responded to the scene and located French. Despite their efforts, French succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
New York State Police were assisted by New York State Forest Rangers and the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.
This investigation remains ongoing.
