Additionally, one of the individuals arrested was positively identified as a previously unidentified suspect in an open larceny investigation being conducted by the New York State Police at SP Watertown.
During the Zone 2 detail in the city of Syracuse, Troopers arrested a prolific retail larceny suspect who had been identified in numerous retail theft investigations throughout Onondaga and Oswego Counties. The individual had been actively avoiding apprehension and had five outstanding arrest warrants related to retail theft offenses. State Police were also assisted by the City of Syracuse Police Department.
The three-day operation is part of the New York State Police’s continued efforts to combat organized retail theft and hold individuals accountable for crimes affecting businesses and communities throughout Troop D.
