Oneida County Deputy Arrests Hamilton Man on Felony Charge Following Traffic Stop in Sangerfield
According to Robert Maciol, a routine traffic stop in the Town of Sangerfield led to the arrest of a Hamilton man facing multiple charges, including a felony offense.
On February 23, 2026, at approximately 10:18 a.m., a deputy assigned to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Waterville Field Office conducted a traffic stop as part of a warrant investigation. The stop stemmed from a previous traffic incident that occurred in the Town of Paris in November 2025.
Following the investigation, authorities identified the driver as Tyler Redmond of Hamilton. Deputies determined that Redmond was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Records revealed 42 suspensions imposed on 14 separate dates.
During the stop, deputies also discovered that Redmond was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance.
Redmond was taken into custody and transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing. He was charged with:
Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree (Class E Felony)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
Redmond was subsequently lodged at the Oneida County Correctional Facility pending arraignment. He was later released in accordance with current New York State procedures.
The investigation remains part of ongoing enforcement efforts by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office to address repeat traffic violations and related criminal activity throughout the county.
