Upon arrival units located several spent shell casings of at least two different calibers and were advised that a vehicle had been struck. While conducting a canvas on scene, a separate call was received stating a party had been struck by gunfire on the 1500 block of Kemble St.
Upon arriving on Kemble St they were met by an extremely uncooperative individual suffering from a gunshot wound to his thigh. From what little information they were able to obtain, it was determined that this party was on Churchill Ave, and was struck during the shooting incident there.
The male refused all medical treatment and did not provide any additional information to officers.
The incident has been assigned to the Major Crimes Unit and we are asking that if anyone has information to please contact the Utica Police Department MCU Unit at (315) 223-3556 or you can submit a 100% anonymous tip online through Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers at www.mohawkvalleycrimestoppers.com, by calling 1-866-730-8477 (TIPS), or by using the P3 Tips mobile app.
