Troopers respond to school bus crash in Truxton NY

February 9, 2026

On February 9, 2026, at approximately 8:35 a.m., New York State Police at Homer responded to a school bus on its side at the intersection of South Hill Road and Singleton Road in the town of Truxton.


The bus from the Homer Central School District had 11 elementary school-aged students on the bus, the school bus driver, and a school bus aide.


Troopers were assisted by members from TLC Ambulance, Tully Ambulance and Lafayette Ambulance.


A 7-year-old female, a 7-year-old male, and a 9-year-old male were transported to Upstate University Hospital for two head injuries and a hand injury.


Several other minor injuries were reported, but did not get transported by ambulance. All of the other students were transferred to another bus and transported to the Homer School District.


The New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit also responded to the scene.  Troopers were additionally assisted by Truxton Fire, CAVAC Ambulance, Cincinnatus Ambulance (canceled prior to arrival), CNY Towing and Morey’s Towing.
