NY State Police Find Fake Registration Sticker During Traffic Stop
TROOP A INTERSTATE PATROL | NEW YORK
A traffic stop by New York State Police Troop A Interstate Patrol turned up an unusual discovery after troopers located an allegedly fake vehicle registration sticker attached to a vehicle’s windshield.
According to the New York State Police, the sticker appeared to be an unauthorized registration, prompting a humorous social media post referencing the prescription instructions printed on the paper covering the sticker.
“The prescription says to apply from head to toe. It doesn’t say anything about making your own registration,”.

The post referenced permethrin 5% cream, a prescription medication commonly used to treat certain skin conditions. The medication instructions visible in the accompanying photograph say to apply the cream to the skin and leave it on for 8–14 hours before washing it off.
The unusual combination of prescription instructions and an apparent fake registration sticker gave troopers a memorable way to highlight the discovery.
