*UPDATE* State Police investigate DOT worker struck by a vehicle in Pittstown

UPDATE May 30, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. 

The individual who was struck in the collision has been identified as Robert Bornt, 54 of Hoosick Falls, NY.  Mr. Bornt who was working as a supervisor for the DOT operation at the time of incident, succumbed to his injuries at Albany Medical Center on May 30, 2025. 

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made related to the crash.

On May 29, 2025, State Police responded to the reports of an individual struck by a vehicle on State Route 7 in Pittstown, NY.

On May 29, 2025, at about 2:15 p.m. Troopers responded to State Route 7 near the intersection of Campbell Lane in Pittstown, NY for the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The investigation has determined a New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) worker was struck by a westbound vehicle.  They sustained severe injuries and were airlifted to the Albany Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

State Route 7 is closed to all traffic between Reservoir Lake Road and Parker School Road.

**State Route 7 is closed to all COMMERCIAL VEHICLES between Route 278 in Brunswick, NY, and State Route 22 in Hoosick, NY.

Closures are expected to remain in place until approximately 7 p.m. tonight
